To further promote domestic manufacturing, the budget has reduced customs duty on certain raw materials and capital goods.
These include certain inputs of CRGO sheets, amorphous alloy ribbon, ethylene di-chloride, propylene oxide, cobalt matte, naphtha, wool fibres, inputs for manufacture of artificial kidney and disposable sterilised dialyser, and fuels for nuclear power plants.

To further incentivise e-mobility, customs duty is being exempted on certain parts of electric vehicles. Customs duty is also being exempted on capital goods required for manufacture of specified electronic goods. more

As far as resources are concerned Govt should explore to collect legitimate tax from people who hide their money and do not pay taxes. One such source is Rich agriculturists. Also many a people are earning very high but do not pay taxes because their earnings are in black. more
We in India need to see where and why the tax increase is used. We still want so called FREE stuff from the government. Free from government is never really free. We need to cut government free bees and lower the taxes and regulations to make lives of the citizen better. more
This list is from somebody who doesn't understand what has been done but has to comment no matter what. For example, Mr Mohan says that Split AC will be costly, what he doesn't know or didn't mention is that the custom duty on it is increased so only imported Split ACs will be costly. SO, how many of us buy those imported ACs, very few. It is being bought (in the range of 70K+) by the rich. We all buy Split ACs and they are made in India. Also, this is done to increase the Make in India thing. I am fully with the government on this. Secondly, he mentions that Soap will get costly. Again, it is his understanding. Actually, the duty on palm oil derivative which is being imported (mostly from Malaysia) is increased which is very much in line with the local industry demand. Anyway, what has been done is support the local industry where-ever required and open the market for foreign investment where-ever we are not good at it (e.g. Defense, aviation etc.). Please understand what has been done before you start commenting on something. more
With the increase in the price of petrol and diesel, not only the cost of commutation, but the cost of transportation of goods and services will rise. It will increase all round inflationary pressureand common man will be affected. more
It is an irony that it is claimed that tax is reduced on some items. When the price of petrol and diesel are increased automatically the prices of all commodities especially vegetables, grocery items etc. Will increase. Additional tax on petrol and diesel as though their prices are low and steady! Never a relief for working class, middle class and salaried class. more
