Budget related aam aadmi issues

Earlier pre Covid I remember LC Manager used to do budget surveys which would then be escalated to Finance Minister. Why has LocalCircles stopped this exercise?

We as people should demand changes in 80C. The investment limit of INR 150,000 needs to be made 300,000 minimum.

Also the Government should make no taxes till taxable income of INR 10 lakhs.

What are other things that circle friends can think of? more

Forget about 80C benefits. In new regime even Rs. 150,000 is not allowed. more
In the last few years the tax slabs have not been corrected for inflation. The resultant impact is that the mniddle-class bears the brunt of disproportionate taxes. The Finance ministry has not come out with anything meaningful for the honest tax-payers. The givernment has reneged on various past promises and started taxing Long-term Capital Gains, Dividend Income etc twice. Alternate Minimum Tax and high rate of tax as compared to corporate for an individual is not a happy situation. Two taxation schemes creates a lot of confusion and hurts long-term tax planning. The government seems to be only treating the middle class as a milch cow as it has no voice. more
The idea of pension based on I Tax paid, needs to be exp[ored further. A good suggetion. more
Truly all such issues needs open healthy discussions ON GROUND but it is very unfortunate part of our functioning that all policies are worked out in closed AIR CONDITIONED ROOMS WIOTHOUT REALIZING THE REAL OUTE SIDE CONDITIONS IN WHICH COMMON MEN ARE LIVING. more
15 lakhs should be non taxable income and all exemption except house should go . This will add disposable income and all thela walla and shopkeeper will start channeling white money and banks will prosper . Every one should get pension depending on the % of income tax paid at the age of 60 . This will encourage people to pay Income tax . Every y farmer should be taxed @ 2 % of their income attaking big farmers and farm houses whose agriculture income in crores . like chidambaram whose agriculture income was 3 crores by growing gobhi in flower pot more
