BULLET TRAIN

THE AMOUNT NEEDED TO START A BULLET TRAIN AND THAT TOO FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE EASILY AFFORDING TO GO BY FLIGHT AND AT THE COST WHCIH THEY ARE AFFORDING EASILY. IN OUR COUNTRY WHERE PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING FROM TICKET / COACH SHORTAGES / SAFETY OF RAILWAYS / TOILETE / WATR SUPPLY AND LOTS OF OTHER THINGS. WHY DOES THE GOVT NOT ASK JAPANS HELP TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS SO THAT THE MASSES OF THE COUNTRY CAN BENIFIT FROM IT.
EVEN IF THERE IS NO BULLET TRAIN, CORPORATES AND EXECUTIVES MAY STILL TAKE THE FLIGHT PATH (WHICH THEY ARE REALLY TAKING AT PRESENT). WHY PUT OUR COUNTRY IN HANDS OF FOREIGNERS. WHAT ABOUT MAKE IN INDIA TO CORRECT THE ISSUES WITH THAY AMOUNT OF MONEY IF JAPAN IS LENDING THAT AMOUNT. PLEASE THINK OVER IT AND ASK THE NORMAL PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT. more

I strongly support Mr.Balasubramanian's views. Are Japanese fool ? Bullet train was introduced in Japan in 1965. Air planes cause massive pollution. For details refer http://www.flyingclean.com/impacts_airplane_pollution_climate_change_and_health more
I strongly support Mr Ajay Jain's views.Let's not be whimsical. When Railway cannot afford seats to its passengers, cannot afford safety & basic amenities, cannot increase tracks, many proposed train routes are still pending, dream of Bullet train is an extravaganza. 98000 Crores is not a matter of joke--you can connect the entire north east with that amount. You can definitely make up many of the aforesaid deficiencies. Bullet train connecting only Mumbai and Ahmedabad will drain the entire amount.Instead India should increase number of aerodromes .And travelling in bullet trains will not spend less than a Go-air airfare.Safety of bullet trains will become an issue in India (remember the Gnaneshswari express incident and like). So,railways should think once again before venturing into this project.Lets not take another Tughlaki decision. more
Besides attempts for running bullet trains, a lot of initiatives are to be taken up by railways, especially, provision of modern, bio toilets in all the trains, maintenance of the track, eradications of cockroaches in the compartments, particularly in Airconditioned coaches. Bed rolls supplied in majority of the trains are substandard. They appear as if they are not at all washed. The minimum, and basic amenities, like , garbage boxes and mugs are to be provided in the second class, general copartments also. The passengers in general, are to be educated on utilisation of these facilities to improve hygene, and comfortable travel. more
Going for bullet train is a good initiative. Only sadists oppose any thing new on basis of cost and concern of poor people which is misplaced. Even air travel which was considered luxury of a few some decades ago is used by all sections now. Look at the cost of our space program which cost millions but has brought enormous benefit from communications to weather management and also now earns valuable foreign exchange. Even Asiad games were opposed till Indira Gandhi decided boldly. Remember our scams are now quoted in lakhs of crores.More over new technology will bring a sea change in other fields. So,let's give thumbs up to Bullet trains. more
Introduction of bullet trains in India is a very good idea, even at the enormous costs. Let the Government also plan for bullet trains from important and metropolitan cities to the capital of India. At the same time, we can seek foreign technical know-how to overcome lot of general traffic problems on IR for the general travelling public. more
