Bus Transportation in India - Key Issues

Dear Friends:

The local circles of Transform India with Modi and now the Make Railways Better circle have done amazing work on giving inputs to Railway Ministry.

On similar lines, we seek you inputs today on all the issues related to Bus Transportation in India. Our focus here is inter city and inter state buses that are used by citizens.

Once we know the issues, we will separately discuss Root Causes and Solutions to put together a comprehensive whitepaper for the Ministry of Transport and other affiliated agencies so Bus Transportation can be improved in India.

Free bus service twice a day on important routes would be something which has not been done before...At least in BJP ruled states,this can be implemented...May be on the longest route....or a route with the most commuter traffic... OR the route from the most economically backward area to the bus stand/Railway station/Imp destination etc...CNG operated buses... more

Many of the buses are outdated and not comfortable for travel. These buses also emit high level of pollutants. more
