Business Engagement in City Services
One of the models that emerged out of previous discussions is engaging corporates and small businesses/entrepreneurs in the city.
The idea being that of formation of Advisory Councils for local government bodies like Police, Municipal Services, Power Corporation and engaging the participation of businesses paying taxes through these councils.
Kindly share your inputs on how such a model can effectively work. We can then take the recommendations to states via a body like Niti Aayog and request them to pilot in a few cities in India.
If there are case studies of such a model working already in some cities, do share that with the circle.

Yes, businesses in city can bring the real picture on surface. As they encounter various bottlenecks and also other issues which are not addressed at all. So this activity should be taken on priority. more

The Advisory should preferably have a mix of industry stalwarts, city/state admin officials, local citizens of repute and professionals. There should be regular interactions amongst the members through mail/skype etc and also a portal for resolving of issues, advice etc more

Regional Development Councils involving the District Administrative Authority , the District Collector & Magistrate as the Chairman , formulating with the combination from 1. Police 2. Revenue/Tahsil 3. Municipal 4. Health 5. P & E A.E. 6. A.E., of I & P ., will address many in all the Districts helping the District Development Councils that were earlier proposed and planned please . more

The Advisory councils can be formed to advise the local administration on controlling air/noise pollution, Law & order, cleanliness, maintenance of roads, water/electricity supply, parking and encroachments/unauthorized constructions. Such councils can put pressure on the administration to deliver on every front. more
