RAILWAYS ALLOWS PASSENGERS EVEN TO GET INTO RESERVED COMPARTMENTS , IN SLEEPER CLASS TO SLEEP IN THE CORRIDORS AND PASSAGES . There was even a post with photographs of passengers sleeping in A/C 3 tier compartments . Where is all that money going ? Why wasn’t the divisional head and others pulled up on this issue .

# the total quantity of issue of free passes number wise and rupee wise should be ascertained to the various categories of beneficiaries , so that it will be evident where is the unwanted drain that pulls the ever good Indian Railways down .

# What is the % of concessional seats , births and in classes to what category of people and the value. Concessions are important to various classes Like defense personnel, students , Differently abled, sports persons and the so many other . But not keep on increasing the category at the whims and fancies of elected members . AND PASS ON THE BILL OR LET THE CONCERNED MINISTRIES TAKE ON THE EXPENSE [ as already suggested by the railway Ministry]

# Restrict free travel only for the elected members and not their families . The retired ones needn’t be considered . All this at the public money .There should be definitely a ceiling for number of free travel for the elected members for free travel in Railways .

Freight traffic 1.01Billion Tons with a small Track length compared to the other 3 nations . When one takes a look at the freight transport to the ratio of workers we are the lowest in efficiency . May be Automation is the cause in the other 3 countries to boost the efficiency of transportation economically . The entire nation would love Railways to earn more from this sector. AUTO MATE IN THIS AREA BEFORE THE BULLET TRAIN SO THAT RAILWAYS OPERATION RATIO IMPROVES. ----------- Let us improve our Railways.

The present sorry state of affairs is due to the treatment of IR as a charity house during the last 70 years. The GoI treated it as a Govt. department (having no accountability) and not as a service provider to a large populace. To stem the rot, there is need to rationalize man power, cancel all free/concessional passes, control free travel and linking salaries to performance. Today a class IV employee gets a salary of Rs.35,000/- + perks and penson after remaining on pay roll upto the age of 60 years whereas in private sector, a professional employees does not get such salaries and privileges. He has to work for 10-12 hrs/daily to earn his salary/promotion with no job security. The expenditure on salaries/perks should be capped at 55% of the total revenue to spare sufficient funds for upgradation/expansion at a fast pace. more  
No comment on this issue. Most of the population want to either follow or practice parasite culture . more  
1. All privileges if can not be stopped, at least can be partially charged. No more all free, except on official duty. MLAs MPs and all other employees if below poverty line, may avail free travel, other should be provided concession. All the government and other agencies employees enjoying free travel should be billed and amount recovered from the concerned ministry. 2. Sleepers couches only for journey more than 24 hours. All other should be replaced by Double deck chair cars. Revenue will double and no shortage for seats. Now a days air craft fitted with sitting chair seats fly 18 to 20 hours at a stretch. 3. Free luggage allowance should be fixed as by airlines. excess should be charged and strictly implemented. 4. Each couch conductor should be present at the door of entry at every halt of train for better control. 5.Toilets should be cleaned at every big station, or every 3 hours. Chetram Khemram more

raailways from the Red.

Toilets could be cleaned every 6 hours .

People travelling overnight need sleeper coaches . Many will be going to

attend their professional work or Functions . Seats should be designed to

the curent dimensions of the individual , particularly the breadth of the

individual . more
