Can a Community-Railways partnership work

Can a local team be enabled between Railway Staff, Citizens in a location in the local circle and Local Police to create awareness around the subject, implement changes and help minimize these accidents.

Yes, of course this will help. A beginning will have to made in this direction. more  
Developing a team consisting the people in and around the location with the local officials should give an awareness class once in a while will give good results. more  
Dear Sir Thanks I have another point to add which may be examined. As the train approaches a say from around 500 metres distance on both sides of the track of an unmanned level crossing an automatic Hooter siren [ much like an Ambulance but specially designed sound for RAILWAY ONLY] must start sounding and it should stop only after all the bogies crosses the level crossing. The power for this system should be INPUT THROUGH SOLAR CELL POWER MAST WHICH SHALL SUPPLY POWER BOTH FOR THE SIREN AND FOR LIGHTING AFTER 5 pm to 6 a m in the morning. Good luck Kasturi G more
