Can India afford GST go-live in April 2017

Citizens via LocalCircles have been on the forefront to communicate views on tax challenges to Govt, putting pressure for Parliament Functioning and approval of GST Bill.

However, given that the Black Money Reform through demonetisation will take some time to settle, should India roll out GST in April 2017.

We seek your inputs on the pros and cons of implementing these 2 reforms in parallel with Finance Ministry being the nodal body for both. Is it feasible and what will be the issues you foresee.

We look forward to your inputs! more

Yes, We should not wait for anything more and go ahead with implementing of GST. How so ever you are prepared, there will be some technical glitches and some professional one, -- those have to reviewed within 3-6 months time more
Yes the govt will start putting in forceGST more
Should NDA govt roll out GST in April 2017?still more than five months to go and Finance Ministry being the nodal body for both is Worrying.I would like to ask one question is the govt starting to collect the GST from Ist day of April 17.... in the present provision of tax collection, quarterly payment of tax is implemented by the govt...it means that there are three more months for the govt for preparation....if it is not enough govt can have another three months i.e from today they will have total 11 months to get set all the pre-requisites of GST collection.Raising hand for implementing of GST will cause to highlight the another major issue(mudda)by opposition. So I definitely recommend to go ahead. more
CAN INDIA AFFORD GST GO LIVE IN APRIL, 2017 It has been observed since a year or so that many of the posts receiving from the Local Circles are not opened to post a comment. Particularly,  majority of the posts relating to votes are not opened. To say, the posts are opened but the pages meant for recording votes and comments can't be opened. Whereas, we do not face such a problem in the cases of the posts of the members. Thus depriving both the members and Local circles in expressing & receiving the valuable views & suggestions while collating them for onward transmission to the concerned authorities for proactive actions. The Local circles are requested to kindly look into this matter and initiate corrective steps. Thanking you. On Thursday, 24 November 2016 12:00 PM, LocalCircles Manager wrote: more
