It is imperative that LocalCircles takes up the cause of gutkha ban in India. We should have discussion on WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE FOR GUTKHA BAN PAN INDIA? And even do a poll and create awareness.

Delhi banned it last month but no action seen

Frankly, this is a campaign that will directly benefit swachh bharat and make swasth bharat more

There should not be any difference of opinion that Gutkha containing tobacco should be totally banned all over the country. Gutkha does not only make our streets/roads and every corners dirty & ugly but also threat the consumers with greater risks of many incurable diseases. For information of the members it would not be out of place to mention that many of our states have already banned this lethal chewing material couple of years ago. more
IT REQUIRES TO ADOPT PRINCIPLES AND ANCIENT CULTURE WHERE PEOPLE USED FOR LIMITED, HYGENIC FOOD, REGULAR EXERCISE AND MEDIDATION, FOLLOWING THE PATH OF VEDANTHA AND DEVELOP GOOD AND COURAGEOUS PERSONALITY. PEOPLE WERE TRUSTWORTHY. HARDLY THOSE PEOPLE HAVE EVER THINK OF ADDICTING OR CULTIVATING BAD HABITS. more
Excellent but challenging work. Chewing pan, gutkha, surti, khaini, pan paragraph and cigarette smoking in public must be strictly banned and stern action taken against the offenders. These are not only littering places but also killing people. On May 28, 2016 12:34 PM, "Amit Mishra" wrote: > more
Ban the manufacture of chewing tobbaco, gutka, Paan masala and take strict action against shops selling these products. Local Circle can do a poll for banning maufacture and selling of chewing tobbaco, gutka, Paan Masala and send to PMO for action. more
This is a complex issue and presently one agency carries out some poor quality work and immediately the other one damages it. As a result never ee hsve good roads. For eg road topping (annual ritual, even in rains), footpath, drainage etc. I was harping on the need to have a proper Road Policy to better protect interets of all agencies using this space, with a long term view, upgraded with research and with use of alternate inputs, without necessitating any damage for a particular work. The contractors must give a guarantee too. Road width, traffic, soil conditions, rain etc should be considered. Talking about rain wster, steps should be taken to recharge ground water with maximum RWH pits at regular intervals, serviced every year. Water flow should be regulated to nearby tanks (even temple tanks), water bodies and interlinked canals ensuring minimum wastage of this precious gift.Priority to be given for cleaning and drsilting of these canals and water bodies. A floating proclain like machine to filter solid waste like plastics and then drsilting could be thought of. Private approaches for vehicle entry, is, the slopes eating into the footpath, and sometimes roads, should not be allowed. The slop should start from footpath to their property without changing the footpath design. A small modification at toad.footpath junction will be enough if the height difference between the too is maintained at minimum level. more
