Climate Emergency is Now

Our PM has announced that India will be be Net zero by 2070. Do you really think NetZero by 2070 will help? Climate emergency is NOW - the devil lies in the details. What we do over next 20 years is crucial in deciding what 2070 would look like. Also, ambitious targets & achieving them in a JUST manner are separate things.

Can we put together a list of what should happen within 20 years and share with Government requesting them to act? more

TOI reported today that India remains one of the top 10 (very laudable, indeed!) in the long list of successful climate changers. And noting the hesitation on the part of financially affluent countries to offer financial support to the cause, it's no wonder that the PM took a safe step in quoting 2070. more
Yes, while we are discussing this, another fact is that PM lectured the world about India's emissions being lower in comparison to the world, but here the credit goes mostly to the poor. See the standard deviation of the same income related data within the country that shows India as doing well compared with developed countries and you will notice India's huge income, with consequent carbon usage disparity. Averaging helps showing affluent well, but the real det Netizens mostly the privileged lot, as also is the PM. Data once so processed will reveal that India's richest need to act now, if only for the morality sake, the causality for climate change being mostly theirs. Burden of consequences however borne first by the poor. Rich can cushion themselves. more
PM Narendra Modi announced a bold pledge that India will achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2070 by tackling climate change. But the climatic change is rapid and the implementation has to be in true letter and spirit. more
We have to distinguish between that is desirable and what is possible. more
Biggest pollution is done by Concrete/RMC and Civil works carried out by by Govt.& Pvt.builders and Contractors done under the name of Public & Pvt.Civil Works. Another is major polluting factors are Mfd.ing Industries & that to specially Chemical factories. They are dumping heavy pollutants in the Nature destroying delicate ecosystem developed from many centuries ago. Currently, what China is paying now, are heavy losses due to floods, cyclones and earth quacks that is destroying human life, culture and infrastructure developed during last 20 to 30yrs.Finally, we all should know what we give to the mother Nature in turn the same will be given back to you i.e. to our coming new generations. Progress with the handshake of Nature is important key. If you do not progress with Nature it will destruct everything means everything what humans have created on this earth. from, P. S.
