Compromising Information of Children

After Aadhaar, now it is ANOTHER 12-digit unique ID for school kids called APAAR ID which the Education Ministry has launched! Parents are being asked to give “consent” so that their child’s personal details can be made available to “entities” engaged in educational activities! Attached form.

And they will be sending the form via schools so you cant refuse.

What kind of data compromise business is this? That too by the Government??? 😳😳 more

It appears as if we have inculcate the habit of raising our eyes and expressing doubt on each and every steps of our government on any aspect ! If intention of the government by collecting separate/additional data of school going children was to earn additional revenue by selling/compromising them, it could have been done from the relative Aadhar Cards and information available on school records without asking for consent of the guardians of the children. more
Old s aying comes to mind when anyone dosen't want to convince or cannot go keep confusing for life? more
If at all this to be done, it should contin minimum basic information which will not harm personally the child or the family. The current waves of digital fraud happening all around in all sorts of forms including a full fake bank branch, it is rest assured that nothing is secured digitally at present. more
The main concern is how securely this information will be stored and whether it could be misused, hacked, or shared without consent. Privacy advocates often worry about potential breaches or the creation of a data profile that could be exploited. A central, digital ID system for children could potentially lead to surveillance, where government authorities have access to a vast amount of personal data about children from an early age. This could extend beyond education to other areas of life. Without clear and transparent policies for data usage, retention, and deletion, there's a risk of data being kept indefinitely or being used for purposes beyond the intended scope, such as profiling or targeted marketing. more
I echo majority of the sentiments here that why new ID card? Why not to use Aadhar card for the purpose (not sure though what is the purpose they have)? more
