Consuming Toxic Deadly vegetables

A study was done on vegetables in Bangalore and is in today’s paper. I am pretty sure situation is as bad or worse in Delhi NCR Mumbai etc.

Most had very high levels of iron cadmium nickel and lead

Lead levels were high in beans; nickel high in green chilly, carrot, potato, tomato and beans; cadmium high in brinjal, coriander, spinach and carrot.

Can something please be done about this members and LC manager?

Organic stores, retail stores local market all carrying similar toxic produce.

We are feeding cancer to ourselves and our next generations. Status quo is not an option. more

Giving farmers free fertilizers and pesticides is the worse thing that is being done. It is not just on crops but also goes into the ground water as contamination. We the citizens need to demand that the free distribution of chemical has to stop. more
Then where the vote bank politics will go ? more
India has got huge population and so is the demand. Every State Govt should frame laws to test every eatable brought to market to ensure that hapless consumers are not eating poisness items as is being done in advance countries. But vote bank politics will prevent every Govt not to do this. Milk and milk products also fall in this category as adulterated and synthetic products are being sold in bulk without any check. Corruption is also at its peak. more
Organic farming is just a hype and a myth. Please take the vegetables tagged as organic to a laboratory and check for yourself. Mass production is not possible without the use of some kind of fertilizers. The producers are very clever about these matters and find ways of using fertilizers which are modified derivatives or collated in some other form and hence dont get the tag of chemical fertilizers. This is like 100% juice or sugar-free fruit juice or cold pressed oils. Just a marketing gimmick. We need very strict standards for what qualifies as 'Organic produce'. more
PLEASE CAN WE NOT GET INSPIRED BY THE ALREADY 100% ORGANIC STATE OF INIDA WHICH IS SIKKHIM AND MAKE A LAW OF THE "sikhim model" by writing a elaborate law with articles precising its implementaiton ; i did my studies in INSTITUT REGIONAL D'ADMINISTRATION IN FRANCE where we learnt how to make laws and how the well thought out and written law can change a society more than what individuals like us can do in 1000 years ??? more
