Covaxin suspended by WHO

A statement issued by WHO on Covaxin said the suspension is in response to the outcomes of its post-EUL (emergency use authorisation) inspection held between March 14–22, 2022 and the need to conduct process and facility upgrade to address recently identified GMP (good manufacturing practice) deficiencies.
There will be an interruption of the supply of Covaxin due to the suspension of production for export, WHO said.

Can Government Health department please advise what it means for Indians who have taken it and especially now that millions of 15-18 year olds have been given Covaxin.

Please issue clarification urgently and we dont care about clarifications from Bharat Biotech. more

I agree with Shubhra & Vardaraj. Western Rating Agencies lay down norms which a developing country's manufacturers find hard to match. I work in Telecom Sector and we had a recent audit by an Austrian Company who was outsourced. However in our dealings with the company I myself found many lacunae in their functioning and approach. So don't panic, worry and spread rumours that our manufacturing lacks good practices, by Indian Standards we are still much better than even some of the developed countries. Anyway is the ratings of WHO trustworthy? You seem to rely and impose trust in WHO but don't seem to have trust in our own Country's manufacturers...I wonder why? more
India may take the advise of our experts on this issue and work more
We should not be carried away by what WHO say about CO-Vaccine It is a game of politics. Before the war WHO approved this very vaccine and acclaimed it heavily. We must ignore them and also those who are propagating their views. Dr S.Sanyal more
It is no more than Geo politics. WHO is not acting as a health organization rather a puppet in the hands of Geo politics. more
US does not know anything beyond their narrow self interest and they go to any extent fair means or foul. Anyway after Omicron which appears to be nature gifted vaccine, do we need to be critical about vacination ? If yes, we are satisfied with Covaxine. more
