Covid 19 cases majorly underestimated

COVID19 cases in India likely significantly underestimated. In Karnataka, 44.1% of people in rural areas & 53.% in urban regions tested positive.

The findings, based on samples taken from mid-June through August, suggest that there are 31.5 million cases in the Karnataka region, more than 94 times the reported cases. There have been only 8 million cases reported in India as a whole.

It provides evidence that the prevalence of COVID19 in rural areas is almost as severe as in urban areas. It also shows feasibility of pooled sample testing in areas of limited resources.

With transmission from Animals to Humans, Materials to Humans, Materials to Animals and vice versa., it is extremely difficult to stop Covid-19 from spreading and the speed at which it has spread before we could determine the number of infected persons. So we are lagging behind in reporting the actual numbers, arranging the vaccine ( we may get it in 2022). Our only hope now is Herd Immunity. more

U may be correct. At Delhi & Ahmedabad all the Covid Hospitals are full.So there is no let up of this Virus. On top of it,there is no proper testing being done.Imagine the percentage of checking is far below what's being done in other countries more
The study may be true as far as the prevalence is concerned; ofcourse that will include a major number of Asymptomatic ones too. Asymptomatic individuals have the infections but they may not cough or sneeze or have fever. Yet they can spread. It will not be as severe as one with symptoms. They get well by without the knowledge of being infeted and will become immune to varying period of duration. As viral load is classified to Mild Moderate and severe. The asymptomatic infected will have chances of mild to moderate transmission as they dont sneeze or cough which releases several times more Virus in te aerosoles. This will also pave the way for Herd Immunity. But if te individuals observe the Prevention norms prescribed MDW and avoiding crowded places and closed places then they have chances of not contacting the disease. more
If there is a rise in the Covid-19 cases it is only due to the foolish people of our country and no one else. The Government io regularly cautioning people but it is of no use more
