Dark Patterns on movie and match ticketing apps

Are clearly real but I am glad the LocalCircles survey has identified them and many of us have participated

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/event-ticketing-dark-patterns

Clearly indicates that when I and my husband were not able to get match tickets on bookmyshow after securing them
In cart selecting seats and then got booted out because someone more important snatched them. Its called Forced Action I think.

The Govt must issue notices of penalty for 10 lakh each for each dark pattern to these platforms. Even then they may continue the misdeeds and pay the fines. more

There is a bait based system which is geared to ensuring that all seats get sold. Its a clever marketing gimmick as the best seats are often the first ones to be sold. So these businesses have now put in an algorithm in place to ensure that all seats get sold by playing with the available choices as you commence booking. One can debate the pros and cons but from the business point of view it is a way of enforcing choice. One needs legislation around such practices to prevent or curtail them. As far as technology is concerned, its a clever ploy. more
Did you really book the ticket (paid and got confirmation) or added in the cart and when tried to pay, you got booted out? more
Agree for close monitoring and suitable corrective actions. more
I do not believe this that after you have selected seats and booked them, the organiser / book-my-show can still tinker with your confirmed booking and give your sets to some body else. This is robbery. more
I think ticket was in the cart was yet to purchase it more
