Decriminalisation

We should see steps taken to decriminalise politics. Modi did mention his thought how he would go about by requesting Supreme Court to speeding related cases and deliver judgement. Eager to see this as it would pave the way for more educated citizens who talk sense. more

IF Modiji initiates in this regard, this will instill confidence in people that "We have voted for the right person, and Modiji is a man of words" more
This will be a nice step. Justice delivery system should be effective and fast. Bring police reforms. more
Decriminalisation of politics- If a politician is found guilty of any crime then the trial should be on fast track( summary trial Case) and if punished it is not imprisonment but also to speedily recover from the assets of the politician under arrears of Land revenue more
Mr. Ashok, I fully agree with you but at the same time I also agree with Mr. Srinivasan as there are many M.P.s in the ruling party as well with criminal records. Hence, we should rather make the voters more aware of this and see that such politicians are not voted for, this will also make political parties realize that if they select such candidates they will only loose badly. To create this awareness, we should not wait till the next elections, it should be a continuous process. more
While decriminilasing politics is definitely desirable there should be segregation between ordinary crimes & socalled political cases foisted on rivlals in politics. We all know too well how CBI & police in various states were used by erstwhile rulers to target opposition. What is most urgent is police reforms. It will not be a bad idea at all to create a Police Reforms commission under Ms Kiran Bedi to formulate suitable measures with implementation schedule. more
