Diwali Travel Experiences - Inputs Sought

Many of you may be travelling in trains this week and next. We would like to request you to share your experiences (positives as well as areas needing improvement) as you travel. Would also be best if you can share pictures and details.

Will the Railway Ministry show its sports man spirit by giving an explanation on the inordinate delay of the Howrah - New Delhi Duronto Express No.12273, as detailed by Mr. Naba Kumar Adhikari and detail its proposals of compensation for the passengers who were made to suffer innumerably by leaving them on the ND platforms in the mid-night? If the ministry is unable to come out with satisfactory compensation plan, it has no morale right to ask for such inputs from the passengers. more  
I have Travelled with my Wife and my grand daughter 4yrs on 27.10.17 by Howrah New Delhi Duronto Exp TRain No 12273- PNR No 6107258999. 2A Coach noAE-1 berth 2 & 5, most bitter experience, it reaches NDLS at 16.00 hrs which is 8 hours late incredible, we were not informed by any of the IR staff why it is late, there was no AS available on the coach, latar we came to know or rather it was rumoured that the Engine breakdown, food not served properly, catering staff`s behaviour was worst of its kind, Many people could not avail the onward trains from New Delhi, Ministry only conveyed "SORRY for inconvenience" Question: who is responsible for this, whether Passengers shall be informed later what was the exact reason of such negligence, Who will compensate the loss suffered by me or other passengers like me, How do Ministry of Railway quantify the sufferings of Passengers for such incredible Delay of Running such premier Trains with Dynamic fare, Is there any mechanism to compensate such passengers of late running trains at the cost of IR Employees, if not it is suggested to introduce immediately, In fact the maintenance in charge of Tikiapara Rail Workshop must be suspended till the time enquiry is going on, why not, Whether this shall be forwarded to concerned if so please confirm more  
Same case happend with be travelling from PNBE TO MUMBAI IN :KAMAKHYA AC EXPRESS BY 27TH DEC. I HAD LINKED TICKET FROM MUMBAI TO AHMEDABAD. MY TRAIN WAS RUNNING JUST ABOVE 2 HOURS LATE TILL BSLWHICH WAS MANAGIBLE,
FROM BHUSABAL TO MUMBAI OUR TRAIN WAS DETAINED AND ALLOWED PASSING 6 OTHER ORDINARI/ EXPRESS/ MAIL TRAINS WITHOUT JUSTIFYING OUR JOURNEY, I ASKEF STATION MANAGER AT CERTAIN SMALL STATION, HE SAID RAIL GIVING PREVILAGE TO OTHER TRAINS WHICH IN RUNNING ON TIME. RESULTED 5 HOURS LATE BEFORE KALYAN JUNCTION AND WE LOST COMPLETE LOSS OF MY ONWARD TICKET IN (3RD AC CONFIRMED TICKEF TAKEN 3 MONTHS BACK) CST- AHMEDABAD MUMBAI MAIL WHICH WAS MANNAGED ONLY 4.5 HOURS DIFFERENCE FROM MY RUNNING TRAIN( KAMAKHYA AC EXP). AFTER GETTING COMPLETE MONEY LOSS OF THIS THIRD AC TICKET
LATER I MANAGED ANY HOW LUCKILY ANOTHER BOKKING IN 3RD AC FOR THE ALL MOST LAST RUNNING TRAIN IN ROUT SHEDULED 12 AM, WITH MY MOBILE APP IN BANDRA- UDAIPUR TO BARODA JUNCTION AND SEE THE RESULT MY RUNNING TRAIN WAS AGAIN DETAINED AT TWO PLACES KALYAN AND IGATPURI AND TRAIN MAD LATE BY 6 HOURS + IT WAS ONLY MAKE LATE TO MANAGE OTHER TRAIN IN THE ROUTE. AND WE AGAIN LOST THE COMPLETE FATE FOR 3RD AC BOOKED TICKED. MORE THAN THIS IN MID NIGHT AT CITY LIKE MUMBAI WE HAD NO OTHER OPTION THAN TO STAY IN HOTEL AND SPEND 4000/AND WAITED FOR NEXT DAY RESERVATIN IN VERY RUSH DAYS. more  
Only regular periodically training of the staff can improve such kind of bad service. more  
I travel to work by the Mumbai Central Railway suburban trains every day, I find that invariably the trains are 10 to 20 minutes late every day adding to the delay some trains are cancelled without mentioning any reason whatsoever, only announcement of regret. I sincerely feel that because there is no commitment to essential services which is marred by unions, the hapless traveler has to face the brunt for which he is not responsible. Secondly Trains on the central line have very weird time table there are two Thane trains in-between one long distance train, where as people up to Thane travel by all trains irrespective of providing them two Thane trains, this should change and there should be one Thane train and one long distance train one after another which will ease the crowd to a large extent, and if they are in time then it will be icing on the cake, provided the Railway ministry is prepared to look into it. more  
Suggest Please wait for 'Bullet Train'.... last 70 years it was not suggested more  
Was traveling in Karnataka Sampark kranti from Pune to Yeswantpur(22 Oct 2017), The food price was inflated, The Veg Thali meal they are charging 92 when i asked why the difference the supplier tolds: sir this one is different and having more quantity and having extra item whereas there are nothing extra. Also the Chai they are supplying charged 15 by telling the name of Bal Bakri chai with different taste and 2 piece of Samosa 22 - Don't know why double standard there and first of all there is no one to check the food weight and accuracy. Also no body to control all the inflated prices. more  
Coach attendants do not provide hand towel in bedding. Pantry coaches do not serve Rail NEER and charge more rates than prescribed by IRCTC e.g. Veg meal is charged Rs 90/- while IRCTC rate list Rs50/-. more
