Early Morning accidents in UP

UP has become notorious for early morning accidents now a days. There are several reasons behind it. One of the reason is overall lazy and crook mentality of UP walla and that impacts working pattern of UP wallas. The other reasons are our Railwaymen openly enjoy secular drink during night duty and that is playing havoc with Rail safety. Despite several requests, Railway Board is afraid of compulsory breath analyser test for all employees during day and night duties. Why Board is afraid of employees, only god knows. more

I SPECIFICALLY do not accept the wholesale condemnation of UP people; maybe you have had bad experiences. I have lived in New Delhi and Delhi for more than 50 years ( I am now 62 and in Chennai, despite my wishes). My experience has been different. UP people are maligned because their language use sounds like they are shouting or even gesticulating. I have had people coming to my rescue late nights when I used to go to Haridwar/Rishikesh at night, and often to marraige in their towns/villages. To villify all of them is WRONG. Now as a Chennaite I say what about the spate of robberies, and killings of people by their own families and goondaism in TN ? Is it better than UP or less ? Sorry sir, you are barking up the wrong tree. So far as drinking bhy Loco Pilots are concerned, I TAKE STRONG EXCEPTION AGAIN TO YOU SWEEPING REMARKS FOR ALL LPs and ALPs. This is totally wrong and gives a wrong picture of the situation. I am a railfan, and prefer, when I get permission to travel in locomotives although I have an AC class ticket. As a child and till the age of 35 I was a regular on locomotives between NDLS/DLI and Aligarh and Tundla etc. I asked them the very same question you mention: is it true that you people drink while driving. The LP looked at me and said: Murli Saheb, If I drink and drive the train, and have an accident, who will be injured or killed first ? It is I the Loco Pilot and the ALP; does that answer your question? Second, regarding the checking of LPs for drinking tests, I am NOT sure at all that they are not/do not want breathalalysers. I will try and get you the right information from the Railways Union/and the establishment. One thing I know first hand, is the kind of rigorous nature of their work. they can't sit, there is no toilet, and whether it is hot, or cold, there is no provision as of now for air conditioning their cab. Imagine 42 C temperature outside. Inside the locomotive, diesel or electric, the temperature rises by about another 4 to 6 degrees. How would you like to join as an LP sir ? I will assist you. Take permission from your HQ or Zonal PRO and travel and see for yourself. I am a part of a group of railfans (mad about railways), and we have our webpage: Please visit it and join. If you are asked for reference, you can use my name which I will give you, after you want to. The page is www.irfca.org. Go through the details of training of LPs, conditions of working and very much rich information, which even senior members of the Railways refer to. I hope it will change your conception about these kind of generally putting all LPs together. In your office, or in your family, are they no people who drink when not on duty and come to the office or factory ? You get killed in a locomotive when you are drunk sir; first and foremost is the Loco Pilot. Most of the accidents are also caused by external factorss also. Don't lump them all together please. more
Drinking not only to drivers but also to entire staff including station masters RPF etc. more

UP state has to be divided into 3 or 4 smaller divisions under the existing State govt and there has to be controlling officers with authority to monitor and bring the culprits to book. Basic and practical education has to be given to ignorant and simple villagers so that they may know their rights and act against corrupt officials and politicians. more
Hari Om Tat Sat! This has been on thoughts of CG for long! Hope present C.Gvt will do needful! Jai Gurudev! more
I do not subscribe to your view that former Railway Minister was corrupt. However,I agree that corrupt officials down the lines protect fellow corrupt officials. more
Sorry sir, I did not say Prabhu as corrupt. I know him very closely. It is all about corrupt Railway Board and Top Officers yet it is true our Railway Minsiters are afraid of taking any action against this Railway Mafia. more
