Education Reforms Suggestions

1. Instead of a three hour examination at the end of year, it is better to have one hour examination in each subject at the end of every month. This will ensure regular study and at the same time end examination pressure and anxiety at the end of year. Most of the questions asked in the examination should be application based so that learning relates to real life.
2. Incidents of misbehaviour, hooliganism and violence are rising alarmingly in our society. It is so because such tendencies are not checked at an early age. There should be marks and remarks for behaviour also in schools and colleges shown in report card in every class. A computerised cumulative record of students' behaviour (incidents of good / bad behaviour) should be kept and updated every year. It will motivate good behaviour and discourage misbehaviour of any sort from an early age. As a result good behaviour will become a habit of students, who will become well-behaved members of society. Good behaviour is more important than knowledge.
3. Teachers should be given some authority (with limits) to deal with misbehaviour of students. At present teachers have a huge responsibility of developing students into good members of society without much authority as a result of which they are not able to fulfill this responsibility properly. At present teachers are becoming victims of hooliganism and misbehaviour of some students. more

Discouraging Merit Ruins National Growth as confined by SC too more
The new education policy is waiting for its release and any time the government can release it. more than 5 years and meeting several thousand educationists, parents, Teachers, Board members all have contributed for the well being of education in the country. The suggestion is too late. however the points are worth consideration. Non aided schools can formulate their own systems and up to SSLC these types of reforms can be introduced. probably one of the reasons for the 3 hours anual examinations only once is to make the student to remember the subject knowlede. the attitude of the student is that once the examination is over he need not keep the same in the mind and therefore continuity may hit. more
I agree with Vaidya and will like to add we were at their disposal for mending our behavior but now so many restrictions virtually no control more
All Poor Children must be given free Books, Uniform and free ship without reservations. The same should continue to them for studying in distance education beyond Schooling. more
