Encroachment of Railway Land - How to handle
Yesterday railways did an encroachment demolition drive and 500 shanties were demolished. Supposedly a child died while this was going on because a piece of furniture fell on her.
Some like CM Delhi are making it a cause and fighting, some are saying Railways shouldn't do these drives meaning let people encroach Railway land. We ouselves in this circle put together a list of railway encroachments across the country and asked Railway act on it?
Can we please discuss how should Railways handle encroachment and demolitions so ppl cant encroach Railway property while ppl dont die either. more

Why in Delhi alone and after so many years, was the main question and it is seen as a specific issue to put Mr Kejrival into a problem There are many lands in Tamilnadu where people grow paddy, vegetables etc. and no one ever raised a issue about it After some years, they will build a pukka building and the Govt. will also (becuse of the Vote bank and it is the Central Govt. property??) give them address proof like EB connection, postal address and even a ration card If the Railways raise an issue at that time the same thing will happen here also more

While initiating encroachments people do not think that it is illegal. Why they remember laws only at the time of clearing encroachments? In fact all politics should not be allowed in such issues. Let politics be allowed only in Lok Sabha, Vidhansabha & Rajya sabha and at no other places. more

Railway wanted to remove encroachment from own land.the ministry of railway had informed to government of delhi but government of delhi is not interested to remove the encrochment the government of delhi wants to make this matter politicised to defame the central government , it is very much unfortunate . more
