EV economics dont work currently

And they only work if your drive more than 46 kilometers per day. Please see attached and share your experience and participate in this poll. more

Electricity comes from coal and is not called cleaner. EV batteries are made mostly in China, our enemy. India should stay away from this climate change stupidity. This will hurt India in major way. more
Electricity, per se, for traction remains cleaner. How? Energy from electricity entirely converted into motion most efficiently. Then, peculiar to vehicles, there is energy savings regenerative braking and idling when the engine completely stops. In internal combustion engine the fuel keeps combustion while idling. Even in Diesel locomotives too run on electromotive force, wherein recognising the efficiencies derives, the fuel runs a generator which drives the locomotive. Centrally produced anything on an industrial level, even power plants, derives scale efficiencies. EV's have become affordable, as compared with the past, while helping clean the environment. Solar charging too will happen soon. more
I don't agree that EV reduces pollution. By charging the vehicle on grid, the pollution generation is transferred to the electricity generating plants. Most plants operate on coal and the share of hydro is very limited in India. Until true green generation with wind and solar match or overtake the fossil fuel plants, the EV will not reduce pollution. However, it does reduce pollution inside cities. more

The fossil fuel cost is ultimately made out with the future in terms of pollution. Diesel also more polluting. In city driving, EV have several other benefits such as regenerative braking and entirely fuel saving idling also make a big difference, apart from being emission free. Also count the transporting petroleum products through tankers, while electricity transmission already happening at our homes. Then there also autonomous battery swapping points, where customer pays electronically. Swap point. Saw a young boy ride up on an escooty, take out his scooty battery, electronically pay and swap the battery. Less than the time required for filling up petrol. No pump personnel required, as entirely self-service. Gradually with technology improvements, these would become chargeable utilising solar energy. Be positive about EV. more
