Exorbitant school fees charged by corporate houses
All of us who use local circle show concern with lot of things which impact ordinary citizen's life. One thing which needs our attention and need to be converted into a movement is education business by India's largest corporate houses. Our PM gave one call for giving up LPG subsidy and millions responded favorably. Why can't he give a call to Tatas, Birlas, Ambanis and other rich business houses to provide free education in their schools and colleges? After all their schools and colleges are run on income tax savings made in name of charitable organizations owned by them only. Are they poor to take school fees in lacs from every elementary school going child? Is it not a shame that they contribute millions of dollars to USA universities while at the same time they demand school fee in lacs from their own countrymen. It is a high time we should draw attention of our PM Mr Mody towards this. At least corporate houses can provide free education upto 12th standard as Govt does. As regards their institutes of higher learning they can reduce their fee by half. more
Have you people not know what supply and demand is in free economics? Indian people can't get good education from "free" failing government schools after paying for them in the taxes so they go to private schools. Private schools and colleges are in higher demand due to this reason. It is not that hard to understand is it? Stop asking government to do this. Try going to great private schools and colleges in the world and yes they charge extremely high fees for the same reason. more
Dear Sir,Who is responsible for this the parents and the so called politicians and general public due lack of awareness of the constitution and that benefit is taken by the politicians for their benefit they are least bothered about the general public they have only their vested interest. They only say in Singapur /Japan or any developed country go for visit along with family enjoy sight seeing and come back they will not anything to the public Finland is very small country there the education and health care services are free. Here our politicians give example but implementation is zero. Go through the Article 21 A what is says then why the supreme court is silent on that because all the schools and colleges belongs to these people where they are making money for their benefit. So come on the road and make an effort to show how our country is for education and healthcare system is functioning. Simply saying is not enough. Dr S.S. The big corporate houses are not running their schools for charity but to multiply their investment. Moreover, infrastructure and facilities offered plus good (presumed) teaching staff are expensive. Hence, there is no point in blaming them for high cost. The important question is as to whether educating our children in these so called reputed schools spending lacs of rupees is really worthy. Have ever any parents compared the results of these schools with the results of the government/corporation and other private schools which do not enjoy big names and popularity but deliver their best? I personally know several children of my relatives & friends whose children had their schooling in such schools but got admitted in IITs & medical colleges in the first chance of their appearance and some of them are now earning almost a crore of rupees per year. In what kind of school, Mr. Sunder Pichai, CEO, Google had his schooling? In fact, we are not running after these schools with the aim of giving best education to our children but to maintain our status in the society. Hence, one has to fulfil the demands of these schools without any remorse or regret. more
