Experience with Tatkal Bookings

Several years ago I believe alert members on Localcircles helped find a major tatkal booking scam where within 30 seconds the whole train to Bihar would get booked and agents network in collusion with programmers and railways employees would make money. That was fixed in 2015.

The attached below reported smells like a scam again. Can anyone share their tatkal booking experience? more

Yes. The Railway minister should not depend on what the management groups says. The realities should be experienced by himslf only by meeting the common people randomly and knowing the real problems that they are facing in booking railway tickets. more
When you ask the Railways to explain, ofcourse through RTI, they simply refer the RTI to IRCTC. We are all knowing that IRCTC is a contractor of Railways to manage the railway ticketing. How can a contractor is entitled to reply on behalf of Railways? But queer are the ways the Govt does these days and why Railways should act differently? more
I travel less but My experience is bitter, I found the boking full as U also experience, but when I was traveling 30% births were empty. & T C was allotting births to required passanger. more
if the intentions of serving and addressing public issues is not done with a service motto and just by doing eyewash saying everything is working good is a false promise from the railway ministers and since they sit in their cosy air conditioned offices with no ground realities and listen to what their management group says nothing is going to improve. It is high time the dept is revamped with a change in the minister portfolio.hope govt takes up with the concerned ministry and does something daily you see only trains cancelled and on the other side you see high speed trains inauguration .First think of aam aadmi and make his life comfortable by addressing the cancer in the system more
