Farmers seeing major loss due to weather

Govt has announced #wheat MSP of Rs 2125/quintal, the the Min price that farmers should realize. Due to the recent rains & hailstorm, wheat quality & yield is hit significantly, M.P farmers getting Rs 1450/quintal, farmers losing Rs 675/quintal; just another day in farmers life.

Bigger question is if farmers lose their shirt would we have black marketing and shortages? What is the back up plan? more

We have shortages not because of famers not getting free bees but because of bad government policies. more
Agri-marketing, please. Food Corporation of India, a la NAFED, pull up your socks. Put internet to good use benefiting farmers also. They deserve better. Stop quoting past anecdotes turned bad. more
Untimely rain severely damaged the crops many parts of the country. As per Chandigarh Tribune report State stares at 15% decline in wheat yield, an unbearable loss to farmers reeling under debit No politician or revenue official visited our area becz no election is due this year more
Diesel subsidy benefiting rich SUV owners, "politically motivated", wherein the latter lobby politicians, causing pollution. When the Bharatiya aarthik samriddh learn inclusivity treating farmers, annadaata's worthily, a planning gets prioritised. Otherwise we have selective amnesia! Newtonian logic. more
I support farmers. BUT which farmer is suffering lot there is no survey report. I have read news farmers. today in Maharashtra about 30% electric unpaid bill is towards agri pump. in My opinion instead of talking about MSP one should talk about quality improvement and training to farmers for growing quality product more
