Fast Tag

How can the government FORCE users to compulsorily move on to a private platform or coerce them to pay double the normal toll?

Why is Fast Tag mandatory for personal vehicles? Is it a way to increase transactions for Govt or Private platforms.

Please clarify someone? more

I have a car and I hardly use it.I hardly have a chance to pass thru Toll, may be hardly once in a year.Should I go for Fast Tag?What if I don't opt for it?I need clarification. more
Just back from a Bangalore->Chennai trip. The fast tag lanes are really working. Cash lanes saw huge queues. more
You don't have to but if you happen to go anytime in the future you have to go thru a cash lane if exists which may be a long queue also in future it is planned to collect parking charges automatically thru fastag and in that case you may have problem more
It is a measure to ensure fast movement, and no longing waiting at tolls; i have been using fasttag, and i save more than 2 hours. double the charge is for those not using FastTag. and you should you all know that all banks have been roped in to get the tag ASAP> more
Fastag is primarily meant to reduce time of the vehicle at toll plazas with consequential benefit of saving in time and fuel while idling. In addition it eliminates cash handling and revenue leakages. Vehicles exempted from payment of toll can be issued free tags so as to check misuse of facility. more
The goverment, as usual, took it very casually when the payment authority was handed over to PayTm for Fast Tag in India. Instead, the government should have left the option to Customer which account is required to be linked with FastTag. For ease of citizens, the government should allow portability so that interested citizens can come out of PayTm and link Fast Tag with an account of their choice. Digital payment is available with all Banks. more
Yes, there should be portability. more
BTW, why is this in the GST section? more
