Festivals and Pollution

Yesterday PM 2.5 levels in chennai were 1000 because of bhogi festival. Can we please share a list of all such festivals everywhere from India where air pollution goes out of control and then get Govt to make rules. Like crackers have come down drastically in many parts of India on Diwali I am optimistic the voice through these circles can make big difference.

We can discuss water noise and all other pollutions too and festivals that cause them.

Please share. more

I think why put restriction on celebrating festivals. Of course safety should be condsidered. One or two days in a year is not going to make a meaningful difference in the long run. One approach will be to implement dust control measures. Introduce dust control measures during and after completion of any construction activity will go a long way. Use this as an opportunity to have green ground coverage and erosion control. more

Ms Reeta. Are you using Air Conditioners? Are you using a car! Are you flying by an air craft! Where did this concern of yours go during vehicle burning in the CAA NRC protest! Was your mouth busy and occupied shoved with something! Stop using AC, Vehicles, Flights, Electricity.. Stop the noise pollution that happens on a daily basis in the mosques and churches.. Till such time shut up or you can leave to Mars which is not polluted. more
