TRAI has suggested the imposition of a penalty of ₹10,000 on telecom operators every time they provide false information regarding a mobile number porting request and for each wrongful rejection of a porting request.
They are considering changing number of days taken to switch operators from 90 days currently to 3-5 days. The time taken to facilitate a porting request to another network in the same telecom circle is set to come down to three days under the new norms and to five days to another network in a different telecom circle.
can we please push the TRAI to also impose huge penalties for faulty billing. many of these companies plain cheat consumers. more

The functioning of TRAI is not above average. The supervisory function is a utter failure. more

Everyone suffers if the porting is not honored quickly. Again the services of many service providers are very poor and have to be toned up. more

agree that wrong billing is most common with telephone operators. there is no way to prove that they are wrong at any point. so if something can be done for fraudulent billing will be really helpful for the consumers. more
