Government sero studies raise doubt

A BMC Mumbai study attached today says that 50% children have antibodies in them per sero survey.

As of January 2021, 56% of Delhi had antibodies according to a sero survey. But Delhi had a massive surge after that anyway.

What does this mean? 1. The sero survey wasn't accurate, or 2. these antibodies aren't effective.

Govt should answer this question so we know whether to trust these sero studies or not. They look doubtful on surface. more

Are you talking about children at both the centres or about children in Mumbai and adults of Delhi? Please clarify. more
The survey should be re-examined and approved. There are many organisations, who are working on behalf of some political parties and giving report accordingly. more

Any survey depends on the survey sample size, demography, locations, etc. Just like many exit poles that can go wrong, so also many surveys which are not done with extreme care to take care of the wide diversity more
Please understand sero surveys are sample studies; larger the sample size and more representative its constitution, better it will reflect the situation in the population at large. To say that 50% children have antibodies in them, based on BMC Mumbai study is not entirely accurate. more
