Govt and RBI not thinking right

Attached currency exchange update from RBI says that exchange will carry on as before.

If no ID proof is needed, what will prevent a repeat of 2016 when people were hired to exchange currency notes?

Stop exchange all together. Only deposits should be permitted. Vote and share people otherwise this new exercise will lead to inconvenience of this without black money and full conversion of those with black money. more

This has to be routed through account only to curtail black money in circulation. Now it is open secret Jewelers make a killing which means that they are the custodians of 2nd parallel economy, next to currency market. Will government wake up ? more
Yes. After Jan dhan accounts. Every individual is having a bank account. So deposit should be only in to account. more
People are attributing reasons which neither the GOI nor RBI are saying and then jumping to wild conclusions. The aim of this exercise is mainly under the clean note policy, while the Rs 2000 continues to be legal tender. People have a lot of time to exchange/deposit these rare notes. There is no element of black money discovery involved unless you are depositing a big quantum into your bank account. They are not interested in small exchanges and amounts less than Rs 20000. We should not make this issue larger than life and read too much into it. People who hoard currency always have to worry. more
T SHOULD ONLY BE DEPOSITED AND THEN WITH DRAW IF THEY REQUIRE. NO EXCHANGE OF BOTED BE ALLOWED I AGREE. more
Since demonetization didn't work the first time, we keep doing it again and again? "Insanity is doing the same thing again and expecting different results" more
