People are innovative. They get around bans through surrogate advertising. It is an open secret. The issue is with the illogical bans itself. Why does the government have to decide what the public should see? By putting disclaimers in movie scenes etc they bring in greater attention to the so-called banned product. A complete new look at this manner of advertising bans is needed. Social evils can be addressed only by imparting education. This will not happen in cinema halls and while watching TV where people do not necessarily patronise for moral lessons. more
A lot of surrogate ads promoting online gambling are shown during Cricket matches. If we all raise our voice unitedly the Govt and celebrities will be forced to listen. Social media's power can be harnessed for this purpose. more
what about surrogate ADVT It is surrogate but when TV SERIAL SHOWS CIRCUMSTANCES alcohole smoke that causes major problem more
I do not like these adds nor the products or should I say I hate too. Still this is not governments job to ban them. So, my brother was an alcoholic so should I push for alcohol ban? No because it has been proven that it breeds black market and corruption. Please understand that one evil produces another. Start pushing for education in school and shock therapy like showing the cancer faces etc. and NOT government involvement. Anything government does uses our hard earn tax money. more
May be a sepatrate tax for advertising products harmful to health will deter these Celebs and the sponsoring companies from promoting such products. more
