Govts social media policy against Anti India

I thought via these circles we had voted on a policy against pro active removal of hate, abusive content. Govt seems to be planning Action against Anti-India. Can the Govt be approached to include hate, abusive content in its action mandate??

Government plans a new social media policy to check anti-India activities. The government is finalising a policy which is aimed at keeping a hawk's eye vigil on the social media to check if it is being "misused" to conspire against India and spread anti-national propaganda.

A meeting was held today among representatives of central security agencies and the home ministry to discuss various issues related to it, officials sources said.

At present, there is only a set of "do's and don'ts" for the social media which needs to be graduated to a full-fledged guidelines that should be adopted on such a network.

The move assumes significance as there have been instances where terrorists were found to be using social media to conspire against the country or to propagate anti-India materials.

There have also been instances where rumours spread on the social media had resulted in violence and tense situation in different parts of the country.

The misuse of social media is more challenging especially with reference to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, they said.

The stake holders are discussing ways to finalise a policy to help intelligence agencies and security forces effectively deal with any propaganda, the sources said.

The infrastructure requirements like manpower and technological needs for monitoring of the social media are also being finalised, they said.

Besides this, the ministry is also looking for the ways to reach out to people using social media in case of disaster or for public service delivery, they added. more

Hello whatever said and done, we must be nationalist first, as only strong nation can move forward and make progress, and we have examples of China and Japan, where they support one language, one nation and progressing higher... we need to be strong nation and its unity of people which can only take us there JAGO BHARAT JAGO more
It is necessary to regulate usage of Social Media as well as News Media not to be controlled by anti-India elements - It is dangerous for the security of India. It our nation to be safe such elements to be checked and eliminated spreading false news. more
Anti India mindset can be understood as people have different type of frustrations and unless they are motivated back to normal mindset by the respective authorities this will continue. But the irony is that some people behave like anti social elements and resort to violence in the form of protest and aggressive actions damaging public property and humans. Unless the authorities initiate proceedings against these elements things cannot be brought under control. more
This is a very important, long delayed need of our motherland. I don't know what is defined under social media, as I feel that all communication medias need to watched carefully like even e mails. No question of intrusion into privacy here is needed. Many people have the habit of watching many misleading mails, videos and audios without understanding how much they are adding unknowingly to the strength of hidden forces behind. more
