Let me share my experience on purchase of a mouse. Checked with Amazon, "discounted price" Rs 400 and "fulfilled". Checked others like Flipkart, did not get the same make. Went to a small shop near my house, he quoted a price of Rs 215. Trying to be tax "compliant", I said I would be paying by credit card. The man agreed, without any 2% added. Bought it without negotiation & came back. The shop even replaces problem items for 6 months. Moral of the story: There are many "Punyavans" like Amazon, the local shop who supplies Amazon, the "packing" cost, the courier. Not to miss some customs official getting a payback, transportation port to shop to Amazon. So, from origin to final destination, there are many such layers who have acquired "Punya", while the Chinese manufacturer (Point of Origin) gets a small amount of Punya, and YOU pay for your sins as well as the Punyas for all the intermediates. I assume I fulfilled my duty in paying by card, hence "transparent", and the Punyavans can look out for themselves. more
I will upload invoice in next post more
Dear all please note invoice given by seller is having both GST and PAN no along with his address. My question was that can anyone sale item above the MRP and showing exceed amount as GST. more
Please make a compliant and take the same to the concerned local tax authority. The why should they boadt of selling things at the least price??It is ridiculous. more
Mr. Virmani has put a big question mark on the validity of the invoice itself, which has to be answered by the buyer, Mr. Jitender Kumar. The photo given here does not give the entire picture of the invoice. If the one given here is complete, then it is a fake invoice. The invoice has to mention complete address with contact details. Regarding charging the GST, irrespective of the price printed on the packet, the GST will be charged on the printed MRP or discounted price (i.e. agreed price transacted) but the total price must not exceed the Maximum Retail Price (MRP). more
As per the GST rules: - MRP stands for the Maximum Retail Price which a retail buyer may be charged. The MRP price is inclusive of all taxes. GST can not be charged on top of MRP. - A government notification has allowed traders to sell old inventory items with a revised MRP till 30 September to cover cases where the price may have increased due to new GST slabs. In this case the seller is allowed to put a new MRP sticker but with the old MRP sticker clearly visible. If this process is not followed the seller can be legally prosecuted. Suggest take this up with Amazon through the 'Customer Services - Contact Us' tab on their site. At the minimum you should be able to return your purchase and get a refund. more
