GST rates should be reduced not increased

Thank you LocalCircles for putting it across so crisply that increasing GST rates at this time is not acceptable.

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/increased-gst-rates

I wish more members shared this widely on social media whats app groups.

Seems like many of u dont want to pay more taxes but are stingy when it comes to spreading the word of the survey findings that are in pur favour.

Come on people pitch in share and let us ensure govt doesnt increase rates for basics more

GST was a very good initiative launched by the government over 5 years back. Along with that e-way bills enabled greater transactional transparency. Lockdown, however, imposed due to the pandemic has seen over 23 crores people in India into poverty. Fatalities too, despite all that our external affairs minister may say, have been hugely undercounted - Not 10 times as reported by Lancet, but what if the same is 4 times the official figure! Ok, now Government's vaccination saved millions of lives. However, the rich having a buffer for supporting themselves, while following the stay at home directive, - with internet connectivity this became possible too, become rich once again on unlocking. Corporates saved on infrastructure costs and overheads, making employees work from home. Consequently the companies reaped greater profits too. Poor are the only ones left out! Poverty has now become visible, seeing labourers or daily wage earners ekeing out a living, while surviving on footpaths or medians built under metro train viaducts. Just observe yourselves. Increased GST would seem ok then. more
Survey of 1000 peoples from Party workers does not represent 140 cores. If You want facilities you have to pay money. The Peoples who seeks freebies should sent to out of country like Afghanistan , Pakistan, Saudi where they can demand for No Taxes. more
Fuel must be brought under GST. This will reduce Inflation. more
If we start paying and not avoiding GST, if we force everyone to pay GST - I believe that GST rates will come down. Else, it needs to be increased. more
Any tax is a form of charity so it is to be only very much acceptable .Now the tax on cement is high at 24% which is very high as some low income people also build houses .There should be a low price cement with less GST for a limited quantity to middle class persons more
