Having such communication platforms itself is a positive sign. The need though currently stems from highlighting the problems. There are so many that it is obviously going to be a herculean task and some serious will to do the same. Ghaziabad in particular is a unique case study of being a "safe seat" for BJP used by the stalwart Mr. Rajnath Singh earlier and now General V.K. Singh. The municipal corporation has been with BJP for donkey years and being a resident of over 20 years do not remember a non BJP mayor and yet this is the most pathetic town of NCR with the most corrupt municipal corporation which has never done anything or failed to even hear anything. The biggest visibility is in our roads which need to be found between the potholes and the contracts still keep happening everyday in crores of tax payer money to contractors who probably do not even care to do anything except on paper. The craters are big enough to justify car makers campaigns "MAKE YOUR OWN ROAD" or maybe we will be told soon that everyone should ride in tractors only. Probably the solution lies in what I saw when I visited Gujarat. Road contracts are given largely to publicly listed companies. Even at a premium cost or maybe even with kiskbacks there they have a reputation to uphold so there is work on ground. more
13/09/2014 DEAR NAVNEET SARIN JI I think you have taken things in a wrong direction I mean to say This is the only Govt to fulfill the dream If we stop dreaming How will we progress and lead to next generation Better we must , first start up with dreaming It is my experience that no one has progressed himself without a dream We had a dream of Bullet - it is likely to be the truth We have a dream of more smart city - it is likely to be the reality We had a dream to get money in banks as most of the our corporate have decline the loaned amount So we started to get money in bank from small man's saving - It has proved . And now we have some money available in our banks to finance to our corporate Progress of our corporate family means the progress of our country Thus our country is progressing Every country want to start their business in our country , because you know , now India is the only biggest market to earn money have invited most of the countries to start business and get profit It also proved that our corporate is not capable to explore their business in other countries and bring doller in India in the form of profit out of business in countries ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Advocate, Joint Secretary, Ghaziabad Bar Association.) commented on the Post NAVNEET wrote: "Dear Shiv why don't you tell us what dream you have. My idea is you want Modi Government to fail in everything is it so." more

One solution I had given was what I had seen in Gujarat under the chief ministership of our current PM Mr. Modi i.e. majority of contracts were only to listed companies and not acquaintances of local politicians and municipality members. The need for listed companies to uphold their image ensured better roads to be made although maybe at higher cost. What is happening now? Tenders taken out. An insider tells an acquaintance least quote and receives a quote of an unbelievably low price which actually was never viable for any business. Result - nothing happens and only money of contract gets shared. In other words whatever be the modus operandi, the minimum requirement is to have work done even at higher cost. It is better to have less which is good than more but worthless. Questions to answer? Can a road have a warranty i.e. it has to remain motorable for 5 years from the date of completion. If so, how can this be enforced and the company be accountable - is transparency a solution, only those who have met this criteria and certified by the users of that road or with authentic photographs sent by users every month on the condition of the road be allowed to participate in future tenders. more
