How GST calculated on Hotel booking.

I searched hotel for night stay some of reputed website, Found that GST calculated on their own logic of different website. GST Rates are not mentioned in the receipt or web site. When i calculate rate on my own, I found that rates are not defined by India GOVT. I placed few screen shoot for our reference. Please any body help us to understand the correct calculation of GST with some example.

While explaing hotel booking industry in india,can be cosidered below points.
1. Per night basis or Total transaction value.
2. GST calculation based on base rate or discount rate ie taxable amount.
3. What is the correct GST Slab for hotel booking.
4. Receipt should contain GST numebr or not

With Thanks in advance. more

What is Convenient Fees? I believe the services attached to the accommodation hired is not treated as "Convenient" or Conveniences for which additional fees is charge. Is the room service for supply of bed tea, breakfast, lunch or dinner fall within the definition? These need to be clarified by the Department of Consumer Affairs or the Finance Ministry (Revenue). It goes without saying that the taxes (GST/CGST) is chargeable on the discounted price i.e. the negotiated sales price. I was recently in Shirdi and found 99% if house owners renting out to devotees their rooms in the house at exorbitant rates and also claim GST/CGST charge for which no receipts are provided, or, no TIN Nr is given. This is a not only a good posting, but also an important one for seeking clarifications on the charges by the hotel industry. I am very sure there are lot many hotels that are not registered under the category "Hotels" that are graded. Yet, they charge GST/CGST. more
Room rent (net, after discount) upto Rs 1000, GST = Nil. 1000 to 2500, GST = 12%, 2500 to 7500, GST = 18% and above 7500, GST = 28%. Food @ 5%. GSTN and GST amount must be clearly, separately mentioned on the Invoice. If you pay on the OTA portal, Invoice will be issued by the portal. If you pay at the hotel, hotel will issue invoice. GST will be equally divided in two parts, SGST and CGST, regardless of whether the Vendee is in the same state or another. more
In your case the bill from th ehotel can be asked to be produced where the GST has been charged. to the dot com company more
Whenever you pay GST, you can ask for the bill having GST number and the rate charged.If you give your GST Number, you can see that the credit will appear in your account, If it does not , is is a big fraud more
It is per day tariff...if less than rs1000 GST is NIL, per day upto 2500 it is 12 % more
The discounts are offered by the concerned agency and not by the hotel. GST is charged @18% on the room rent. If the discount is offered by the hotel, it would have been reduced while charging GST more
What % of the GST paid to govt. Before discount price or after discount price?

For example -
Net Amount 8000 (1000/night, 8 Days stay)
GST = 2240 (28%)

Discount = 4000 (Rs 500/night)

Net receavable = 4000 Room rent + 2240 GST.
As a customer pay GST of 56 %

How it is justifiable.

Non of the govt notification force to pay GST before discount.

Who ever give the discount, If GST is paid after discount, Then what is the problem. which Govt notification will effected. more
The agency get a commision and out of which they offer you the discount. more
