Importance of MRP

Look at what is happening in America. Shortage of medicines and hence charging $55 - 90 for a $5 tylenol bottle of children. Ecommerce portals are also not objecting.

In India because MRP is there, they cant do this. So all those free markets free and dynamic pricing proponents, please take a lesson from India and take it to other countries. more

Ms Garima has not indicated the quantity of each bottle. Ms. Rohini has been specific to mention the price paid for a 4oz bottle. more
Free market without regulation is dangerous more
India became pharmacy of the world, bringing several critical life saving medicines to the African nations medicines at costs they could afford. USA economy on the other hand, remains geared towards the high medical costs. Theirs is a separate ecosystem, sustained by earning from patented drugs, richer patrons buying the latest formulations, with the proceeds therefrom being ploughed back into the market. For example, colleges gave students a certain COVID handout, about $500 so that they can buy the necessary prescription drug, if needed. Now that money did get back into the system, by many a student visiting doctors. Diseases in India are rampant, giving doctors and pharmacies the scale and scope necessary for making that MRP economics work, driving prices down. more
Garima Sharma, I just stopped at a local Walgreen's pharmacy store in South Dakota, USA and found 4oz bottle of children's Tylenol for $6.99. Another pharmacy called Lewis Drug it was $6.57 for 4oz. STOP pushing false information and lies. more
Same old unintelligent topic and pushing government price control. Making statements like Garima Sharma with no real economic bases. Please stop making these kind of statements that are useless and worthless. more
