Income Tax circles
Recently I joined the Transforming India circle and participated in various polls. The Govt has ought to leverage these circles properly. There was one suggestion from Mr. SN Mittal about creating an income tax circle in every ward or city. If something like this could be done, it will relieve the common employed people of tax harrassment.
Are Finance Ministry officials in this circle. How do we take it forward to the Minister or is writing to PMO the only way.

First of all we should think of better suggestions to the govt so tat only we do not suffer from tax menace. IT department has appointed Tax Return Preparers for those who find it difficult to understand and file their returns. for further details one can refer to website www.trpscheme.com. Just enter the required information—state, city and pincode, and a list of registered TRPs in your locality will be displayed along with their TRP ID, name, address and contact details. It is good to have IT circle created and I am for it. Would request if we could frame the scope of work or expectations from such a circle to enable justification of setting up such a circle keeping in mind the IT department already has TRP made available more

This is a very welcome suggestion. I myself have been trying frantically to link my aadhaar no to my PAN, but it is not being linked saying name mismatch, whereas apparently, the name in my PANCARD or aadhaar are the same, I don't find any difference. Being a senior citizen, I donot know how my return will be filed. A reference to incometax authorities was made by email, but no response from them. If there were some nearby available help, it will be a great help. I fully support the idea. more

I acknowledge Satish Chander Raheja's comments. I want to add that the loyal tax payer IS ABIDING BY THE INCOME TAX LAWS WITHOUT DOUBT. However, I feel the tax burden on loyal tax payers CAN BE REDUCED if the authorities BLOCK ALL LOOPHOLES, WHICH EXIST EVEN AFTER THE DEMONETISATION EXERCISE. Besides this, there is no uniformity in the timing of issue of TDS Certificates by the tax deductors. Some public Sector banks are not following the guidelines to issue the TDSCs EVERY QUARTER. Each year, I am requesting the bank to isssue TDS to me at the end of May. I get my TDSCs only by middle June or later. In such cases, the figures in TDSCs do not matach 26AS and I am facing the consequences. This negative aspect needs to be fixed. more

I totally agree with you. As per the rules the TDS Certificate of every Quarter should be issued at the end of each quarter. But I find that the tax deducters are only remitting the amount after the respective Quarter and only when you see the credit in the Form 26 AS you can expect the Form 16A.The problem in the last Quarter is frustrating as no one gives you the Form 16A before mid June/July. when you are keen to file your return especially if you are visiting your children abroad. A strict action should be taken against the tax deducters for not adhering to the rules. more
