Increase in passenger fares by 2-3 times

more

Remove all vip, emergency quotas, all sr citizen concessions especially for ac and first classes, children above 6 months full ticket since they occupy full berths/seats and last but not the least heavy penalty for ticketless travel and entry to platforms. And do away with all the frills of wifi in trains (everyone has enough data on their personal devices) any more such thrills. These will increase revenue and save costs. more
My logic is that the land used for commercial purposes by railways is the land that belongs to all 135 crore indians and railway must pay lease rental every year to all citizens of india since they are using it for 'commercial purposes' or subsidize. Had it been 'social purpose' like hospital or national security, or research and education then citizens can ignore the lease rental. There also rs 1 rental per year must be charged to all india institute of med sciences or IIT's since they get budgets. But railways , airports etc must cross subsidize citizens in fares and tickets or pay market rentals of land used by them. RAILWAYS ARE SOCIAL SERVICE AND NOT COMMERCIAL. IF IT IS COMMERCIAL THEN PRIME MINISTER HAS SAID , GOVT HAS NO BUSINESS TO BE IN BUSINESS. SO privatize complete railways and let private company pay to govt trillions of rupees for all the billion acre of land use and sell there services accordingly. "This hybrid model of freely using the land of citizens and at the same time calculating like businesses is flawed" and misleading. Even for unauthorised parking of any vehicle by citizens on public space is taken as usage of public space and one has to pay a penalty of 500 rs to 1000 rs for unauthorised use and for authorised normal parking rates these days are 10 rs to 40 rs and even 100 rs for just 2 to 4 hours. So same principle applies here too. more
you are ignorant. Payment has already been done in advance by every citizen. Nothing is free, it only appears free if seen narrowly. Birth certificate lene ke liye bhi paisa dena padta, okay. Even the unborn pay taxes in india because condoms are taxed and sanitary pads are taxed. A child buying chocolate pays taxes, beggar buying glucose biscuit pays taxes. so more than 135 crore pay taxes, what for? Please let me know. What are taxes collected for ? There is toll tax on roads , but money for roads, railways , power, bridges, has been paid for as taxes. Do explain what are taxes , cess, penalties, excise, customs, green tax, professional tax and all kinds of money is collected for???? more
SIR, IT IS TRUE...!!!! GOVERNMENT REQUIRE MONEY FOR EXPANSES,IF GOVERNMENT LOSS MONEY IN LOCK DOWN AND HIKE RATE TO COVER THE LOST. SEVEN MONTHS WORKERS LOST THEIR SALARY, RETAILER LOST IN BUSINESS, HOTELIER ARE ALSO LOST.EACH AND EVERY COMMON MEN LOST EACH SIDE.THIS GOV.IS ' LOOTING' US.HE IS THINKING ONLY HIS SIDE TO COVER THE LOST, BUT WORKERS & OTHER PEOPLES, CAN THEY COVER THEIR LOST? GOVERNMENT THINK AND GIVE BENEFIT TO PEOPLES BY KEEPING HIS EYES ON HIKE OF RATE IN EACH Item. SURESH PARIKH more
