INCREASING IN RAILWAY TICKET CANCELLATION CHARGES

It has been understood that the Railways is introducing new rules for Cancellation of Tickets. And that the Cancellation Charges have been increased enormously so that genuine people who travel even in Sleeper Class are put to much monetary loss.
The reasoning given regarding touts is an eye wash. Touts, who do the job will continue doing it; as they will, in any way, be charging the clients exorbitantly, and as such they are not going to loose anything. The losers will definitely be common man.

Now-a-days, Railways is harassing its commuters, especially common man, by way of frequent increase in ticket rates and now with this new rule of cancellation they are being put to much losses and inconvenience.

If Railways mean business, they should find out ways to avoid touts and not to burden common man.

The Railways should think of eliminating the services of Agents for ticket booking, as now there are many other easier means to book tickets, even by common man. If the Agents are eliminated, that itself will help in maintaining healthy Ticket Booking by genuine commuters.

The unreasonable increase in Cancellation Charges be withdrawn in the interest of common man. This will be a better step compared to giving subsidy to Airlines for non-popular routes. more

Increase in cancellation fee is in noway solving problem of public but will put additional financial burden over public.Who can plan the journey four months in advance and agents will block the berths and charge more from public.Ideally agents must only be permitted to log in totally different timings and they must only allowed to log only 15.days advance. Then only common man can be benefited. more
Its a very injustice. Government is not able to stop corruption. Instead, it want to collect more and more money from the public. more
Think of seniors purchasing a ticket before 4 months. And traveling after 4 months. What is the guarantee of good health after 4 months for traveling & because of health problem cancellation of the ticket will be a burdensome more
The existing cancellation charge itself is on higher side and further increase is only to pocket more money and the reason cited by Railways is unjustified. First they have increased advance reservation to 120 days and followed it up with increase in cancellation charge. A clever move by Railways. Only a small percentage of travellers is sure of their travel 120 days in advance. It should be changed to 30 days. more
What an absurd reason to increase the cancellation charges! As if public doesn't understand...? First increase the percentage of seats allocated to Tatkal Quota and create further deficiency to already starved availability of seats. On top of that double the cancellation charges...clear cut robbery!! Add to it the requirement of cancelling the tickets 4 hours before whereas in most of the cases chart doesn't get prepared 4 Hrs before. That means wait listed people can't even wait for chart to get prepared to check if their seat got confirmed or not. If they do, they loose entire ticket cost. Either the people who are making these rules are dummies or the real blood suckers of common man. more
