Inefficiency In Railways

I understand the Railways need to make profits, so as a incoming minister it is ok to raise the fares, but that is not enough, the minister needs to have a plan in place to make the railways more efficient, thereby it will automatically become profitable, and thereby it will be possible in future to bring down the fares. Yes the Fares must come down. more

Make unions responsible for efficiency. If they can fight for their rights, then let them be responsible for efficiency too. Each station should be rated as per efficiency, cleanliness and other criterion. For example if there are 10 criterion on which the stations will be rated, then any station that gets a rating of less 5 in more than 4 criterion would get lower bonuses etc. It will make everyone from station master to the sweeper responsible. more
Railways cannot be t:reated on par/with other/commercial enterprises where competetion is/allowed.Here rail road/competetion is/there.Therefoe it is/near monopoly. Therefore government has/a responsibility to ensure efficient management while pricing decisions/are taken. We expect govt to come out with measures/to curb inefficiencies/and stop leakages.Railway/budget/should throw light on these aspects so/that/enraged public can be satisfied more
Yes, I agree with you, sir, by selling scrap they can earn crores of rupees. Even they can introduce online unreserved ticketing system, so that lines at ticket counters can be reduced. more
yes i have also understood the need to raise the railway fares which is acceptable but only thing is this is not the right time to increase and since not even 1 month completed after taking oath and if they would have raised the price in the budgent or after budget it would be opt and this fare increase in haste create so many hashes among the people and ONE THING MODI GOVT SHOULD KEEP IN MIND, THEY SHOULD NOT TELL EXCUSE OR PUT BLAME ON PREVIOUS GOVT THAT THEY HAVE RUINED THE ECONOMY - BECUAE IT IS THE WELL KNOWN FACT AND WITH THAT SITUATION ONLY WE COME TO POWER..... THEY MUST UNDERSTAND TRY TO APPROACH METICULOUSLY.. FURTHERMORE IT IS ALSO IN HASTE REPLACE GOVERNERS AS WELL AS TOP LEVEL SECERATRIES .. EVENTHOUGH IT IS ACCEPTBALE WARRENTED IN SOME CASES. LET THE MODI GOVT MAKE THE THINGS IN APPRECIALBLE WAY AND I ALSO HOPE SO. REGARDS GOPALAKRISHNAN more
