Integrity and Autonomy of Institutions

Just a few minutes back, media is reporting that Government has invoked Section 7 of RBI act which allows it to issue directions to the governor of the central bank in matters adhering to public interest.

RBI, CBI, Enforcement Directorate, Chief Vigilance Commission must be autonomous bodies and allowed to function under leadership of leaders of high integrity and public standing.

Havent successive Government's diluted the autonomy of such institutions in India? How do we get them to be institutions we can trust and get back to holding them in high regard? more

I shall be certifying and applauding for Integrity at highest pitch and upholding the principles of Autonomy so long someone is following and remaining within my shadow, but shall be condemning his/her action(s) if he/she steps outside my shadow even by a smallest measure..Our voice will become hoarse with high acoustic rhetorics like anti-poor, anti-national, etc. let loose. The same would be accelerated/multiplied by my chronies. Supreme Court also cannot get exemption from such directed blares. more
There is a battle On between BJP Government at the Center & RBI. As it happens in Indian Households the - Saas-Bahu tiff, so it seems that this Government who pulled a rabbit out of the hat and appointed Urjit Patel despite not having much experience, naturally he followed diktats of the Center which landed RBI's good works down drain which Raghuram Ranjan had done earlier. Since Government was not able to fix blame of Ranjan who was too smart for them, the next in line Urjit faced flak...how much can a person take. His Dy.Viral Acharya gave it back to the Government on its face. Now some BJP Ministers in Finance Department have taken to social media to belittle RBI and another RBI Senior Official Vishwanathan has also laid threadbare the wrong politicies of the Center which discredits them. Finally it would be the Economy going down the drain while people battle it out for Gods. more

All these above mentioned bodies are highly sensitive in nature. They are the custodian of morality in our public life. They shall be absolutely neutral in every respect. Each of the Institute must have their own recruitment criteria. Once requited they have to undergo intensive training both in terms of investigation procedure and the ethical aspect and how to remain neutral throughout their career. They will start their career in the said organization and will retire from there. With this we will achieve two thing a) commitment b) Integrity. These bodies shall be watertight in respect of any outside interference. To keep a check and balance, we can have an audit procedure if needed. more
