IRCTC ticketing and website failing

IRCTC website seems to be defunct on my desktop. Can others confirm?

It seems to open the next generation website which doesnt work. more

Please note that this website does not work properly on many windows versions with Chrome browser. I have Windows 7 at home and IRCTC website does work with chrome under Win7 but works well with Mozilla Firefox browser. It works well on Chrome on my office PC which has Windows 10. So please try different web browsers with operating system installed on your PC it may solve your problem. more  
IRCTC’s next-generation website fails to impress customers THE HINDU AUGUST 07, 2018 01:24 IST UPDATED: AUGUST 07, 2018 01:24 IST SHARE ARTICLE 3 2 PRINT A A A It’s not so user-friendly, they rue on social media Contrary to the claim of the IRCTC that booking of train tickets has been made easier with the launch of the its next generation e-ticketing website, a majority of users recently have taken to the social media to deride it as ‘not so user-friendly’, hailing the previous website as ‘much better than the new one’. “I am living in Europe and I feel that this new website is not opening outside India,” rued Karan Chahar. Pradyumna K.P. (personality development trainer) wrote: “I can’t find the booking history. I am not even getting SMSes after booking the tickets.’ Haraprasad Mishra wrote: “Not user-friendly. Earlier one was much better.” Further Eswar Kanchurmurthi, secretary, Duvvada Railway Users’ Association, wrote: “It’s not easy to operate from mobile phones.” These are only a few of the scores of comments that is doing the rounds in the social media. The users wanted the IRCTC website to the improved based on the response from the public. more  
I agree with you the present ware Used by IRCTC needs up gradation or changed. more  
They have auto acknowledged it as of now. Tried again but even now clicking the options are not responding. more
