Isnt rising food prices an emergency

In Karala, Tomatoes are selling at Rs. 160/kilo; Beans at 130/Kilo; Capsicum at Rs. 200/kilo.... Oils price is going up faster than a rocket.... when will rising food prices be declared a public health emergency? Especially following the COVID related economic stress?

Beside Vegetable, there are other Food items, whose prices have Sky Rocketed. Also Patrol, Diesel , and Cooking Gas Prices have also gone very High. This has upset the Budget of Common Men. Senior Citizens ( Non Pensioners ) have one more issue to face i.e. the reducing interest rates, thereby reducing their income and increasing Expenditure. Govt must pay attention otherwise their Vote Margin will reduce in 2022 Elections of 5 States. more
Basically this price increase is due to hoarders who are inhumans. They do not feel that they are unfair to their own people which is very unfortunate. Farmers unruly protest was unjustifiable as it was completely political which people realise and educate the agitating farmers. more
Fortunately, here in Visakhapatnam, I am not effected to that extent. However, this matter being state specific, I guess, may be taken up at local level. To the best of my knowledge, Kerala has demand and supply problems in agricultural sector as the state grows more cash crops and less daily needs. more
In short, this is new normal. May be in Kerala if they start selling vegetables and fruits through beverages corporation they can make more money. more
If the price is more it pinches one's pocket and if the prices nose dive then it is the farmers who are most affected. What can one do for this? more
Farmers are hardly getting any profit out of price rising. it is the middle man who is controlling the supply and demand and creating voids for max benefits. more
