ITC Credit on purchase through an e seller

If an individual or a company which is registered under GST buys a product thru e commerce site and pays the due Gst charged in the invoice ,is he not eligible to claim an input tax credit on the Gst paid ? more

As individual it is NOT because it is consumer and consumed for one time, but in case of a company as the Purchase is in BULK and going to be processed further might be eligible. One had to go for minute details. more
Mr Subhash Gupta's is comprehensive. Includes others as well in it. more
The receipient from e commerce supplier can very well eligible for ITC, provided such shout be registered as regular dealer unlike the E COMMERCE DEALER. You are right. E-commerce seller cannot deny that they are allowed to sell the product to consumer only.. more
The e commerce seller says that since they Don’t sell the products for reselling purpose hence our GST number cannot be mentioned on the invoice and only sellers GST number will be mentioned..can’t understand this..if we are a Gst registered buyer and buying the product for office use why can’t we claim the Gst benefit.. more
If the product is bought for personal consumption then ITC is not allowed. more
Only if the eComm site has raised a Gst invoice, i.e your Gst number and Gst registered name / address is used for invoicing and delivery .... ITC is based on the invoice raised being a Gst invoice, not only Gst being part of the cost ... update ur profile on the site with Gst details .... more
To claim input tax credit on any of your inputs, the following conditions need to be fulfilled-

The inputs are used in the course or furtherance of business.
You are in possession of the goods purchased.
You have a valid tax invoice. This means your GSTIN is mentioned on the invoice.
The input tax credit on such goods is not restricted or subject to apportionment as per Sec. 16 and 17 of the CGST Act, 2016. more
