How railways allows people to carry liquor into trains is the biggest jokes. If railways could do that by proper screening machines at stations entrances, such crime against women in trains will go down significantly.
Some people in their water bottles get liquor. Ban non transparent bottles unless being carried by women and children only. more

Probably on some tourist trains of india like palace on wheels etc, bars are already there, unless it is chardham yatra tourist train. more

We often get mixed up between drunk and men. Alcohol is not to be blamed, though it is often used as a diversionary culprit. Man is at fault. If a minister asks for sexual favors in return for a job, whom will you blame , the govt , or the individual??? Even women ministers or policewomen or magistrates are caught asking for bribe, so the deptt is not at fault but the individual women . Carriage of 2 liters (not two bottles) is permitted since these are international travel norms in most countries, but drinking in INDIAN railway trains is not permitted that must be clearly put up as notice in trains as of now. THOUGH I CAN TELL YOU SOON LIQOUR WILL BE SERVED ON PRIVATE INDIAN TRAINS TOO AND BARS AND PUBS WILL BE OPENED ON PRIVATE INDIAN RAILWAY STATIONS JUST LIKE AIRPORTS. Get ready. more
