Late running of Rajdhani/Duranto
Kind attention: Mr. Suresh prabhu/Member traffic, Railway Board and GM, North Central Railway.
For past four days all trains originating from Howrah/Sealdah and New Delhi/Delhi JN(going to Hwh/Kolkata/Sealdah) including Rajdhani/Duranto are running late by 3 to 5 hours. I travelled in 1st AC in 12314 Sealdah Rajdhani Coupe C lower berth on 23rd June. Train started on right time at 16.25 but became late by 1.25hrs upto CNB(Kanpur). Reached Sealdah 2.45hrs late. Today's Howrah Rajdhani is running late by 3.25 hrs and Sealdah Rajdhani by 4.30hrs. Problem lies between NDLS-CNB-Allahabad section. What is the railway doing about the inordinate delays in prestigious trains like Rajdhani/Duranto. Passengers should be refunded fares for delayed hours calculated on the basis of total fare minus catering divided by scheduled running hours multiplied with late hours.

This circle is becoming defunct day by day. So many posts are made by different persons including myself pointing out the present chaotic situation of railway but nothing is improving rather worsening day by day. Perhaps railway personnel are now busy to further fattening of their pay and perks at cost of passenger safety and amenities! more

i have written many a times in these columns that something has drastically gone wrong with the Nrth centrl railways based at Allahabad. Except for their Prayagraj exp and Allahabad Duronto, Allahabad division does not bother for any train. Rajdhani, shatabdi, glorious trains of yore like kalka mail, Purshottam exp they all invriable run more or less on time on MGS - HWH section; but any train between GZB and MGS is expected to be late by 2-6 hr in either direction. There is some sort of special problem - otherwise why trains should be getting delayed regularly on the section- either corruption or incompetence. I would suggest that NCR should revise all timetables (sic) and increase the run time of these so called Sf trains to at least 15-18 hrs between MGS and NDLS. even then will they run on time? A MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION OF INTENT TO RUN PASSENGER TRAINS ON TIME. more

This is one area which Hon'ble Minister for Railways should give priority. I have been frequently travelling to & fro UP and late running of trains is quite common.The root causes have to be identified and steps to be initiated to minimize it as far as possible. more
