Masking Regulation Changes during travel

So just completed quite a bit of travel in the last week. Flights and trains both and now just less than 5% people are masking. Govt removed masks from flights and airports too.

What is everyone’s view on the same? Do people support this move of the Government or will they still mask when they travel? more

Government removed mask means what? Have the government prohibited masking voluntarily by passengers? If not, what prevented the passengers in using masks while traveling. Continue it for your own safety. When 50-60% passengers were reluctant in using masks despite the stipulation, as stated in another post a couple of days ago, there was no purpose of continuing such stipulations and therefore, it was a right decision. Let the people use their own commonsense in the matter until the situation is aggravated again. more

In response to Deepak Darisi's post. Quote from the NIH at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7224694/ "In fact, measurements of the particle filtration efficiency of N95 masks show that they are capable of filtering ≈99.8% of particles with a diameter of ≈0.1 μm (Rengasamy et al., 2017). SARS-CoV-2 is an enveloped virus ≈0.1 μm in diameter, so N95 masks are capable of filtering most free virions, but they do more than that." There is a lot of research available on this topic which shows that N95 masks do provide a lot of protection. The issue has been a lot of people using surgical masks and that too loosely worn repeatedly over a number of days - this certainly did not provide much protection. more
I have seen in the last 3 years that wearing a mask has protected me from infections like cold and cough which I used to catch three or four times a year regularly earlier. So I am continuing with that practice in public places. I would say that whether the government insists on not we can wear a mask. I am sure they would not prohibit you from wearing one. more
People with low immunity due to various ailments and 65+ should continue to wear mask as a precautionary measure. Everything thing should be left to the govt. We first spread various diseases due to negligence and then expect free treatment from govt. and in case of casualty, free last rites, compensation and pension. At every step, tax payers money is involved. more
I feel the senior citizens should continue to masking specially when they are traveling or visiting crowded places. more
