Media is complicit in misleading ad and ad frauds

For last 3 Days I have been seeing advertisements for prachiworld on various media news sites selling mangoes at unbelievable prices. One must of course pay them In advance to place order and get their mangoes. Except, the mangoes will never come.

If you go online and google about them they have hundred of fraud complaints.

My issue is such sites will keep coming to cheat us but why websites like times of india hindustan times are permitting such ads.

Government needs to come with specific rules for any online sites placing such ads. more

Misleading ads have become a nuisance in every websites and no one can scroll them freely without disturbance by such ads. The government needs to do something against this. more
Media like all other pillars of democracy need to be unbiased, fair, fearless, independent and patriotic. Jai Hind. more
Advertisements have been a menace in the past too. in the nineties advertisements by fraud finance Companies like GNS Nidhi promising interest above 20% minted money.Middle class people comprising of retired persons housewives etc were victims. The fraudsters collected hundreds of crores and simply wound up.There was no action worth the name against them. The official liquidator took decades to recover a fraction. If the money was invested in a PS bank it would have become alast 10 fold even with less interest. So much for so called private enterprise. more
I too have been writing that Media now has become morally bankrupt. Money and Profits is what even Print & Visual media is after as they have targets and funds for salaries which come mostly through Ad revenues. Senior Journalist of TOI has been on pay roll of a minister and the reputed News Agency TOI has been publishing New about DTC New bus roll outs which the Minister's office hand out to him with no verification and the same is printed in such a reputed News Print - isn't it misleading common public? However common public does not have time to pursue this matter in Court hence we make noises in Local Channel- which no doubt is viewed as a credible Think Task and Advisor by Government Agencies. So let's hope that this media house is hauled up in coming time. more
Yes, I too saw the ads in Google. When I dialed the number written by them, it turned out to be a false number. Now, they are giving an address in Surat which is also false. The ad is cheating unwary customers. Why doesn't Google stop such ads? more
