Medical Reforms Work

I am quite happy to see our circle taking up medical/hospital accountability issues.

The Cabinet yesterday has approved the replacement of medical council of india (a body known for corrupt practices) with National Medical Commission.

We should give inputs to Government on how this commission should function i.e. Medical education, Doctor licenses etc.

It is the private medical education thats involving heavy donation from student funding corruption between pvt college and govt and hence need for many doctors to cut corners take commissions so they can pay the loans back.

This is best platform for me and you to raise our inputs in simple language or polls and let Govt know how this new body is to function. Last thing we want is it become another MCI because people chose to keep quiet. more

Politicians should not be allowed to run the institutions nor interfere in any policy making decisions. Only qualified professionals with good experience should administer and manage medical colleges. more
As long as we are ready to pay such huge money to the college owners to make our children doctors by hook or crock even if they do not deserve it, no government ruling would be helpful in controlling the greed for money of the college authorities. more
Citizen Role that anticipated in 1949-50 set diluted keeping economic paucity dependable at large & mercy . more
For getting a seat people pay huge sums. For passing they get question papers and answers, or bribe to get a pass and get plumb and prime postings. Copying and substituting is done In exams. Bungling during operations happen and the patients do not know what happened. CCTV is not displayed to relatives. Revamp the whole system. more
strict action should be taken against corruption in medical education more
One of the way to improve medical services in the country is to improve government hospitals in all districts . May be this be managed by central government Department . Tha taluk hospitals shall come under the supervision and guidance of the District hospital directorate but financed by state. Each state must have two to three medical colleges run by the central authority with adequate facilities and the doctors passed out of these Institutions have to serve min of 10 years in government Hospitals state/central . This will ease the presuure on private/corporate hospitals accordingly medical charges will gradually come to to some reasonable level. Government employs , MLA/ MPs etc have to get their treatment from government hospitals only if their expenses are born by Government health care schemes . I feel with this justice is done to all class of people with out prejudice and also provides an opportunity for innovation and to balance the system. more
All government employees, irrespective of cadre, all politicians, or whosoever wants treatment at the expense of government (state or centre) must choose only from hospitals of central / state government. Expenses at any non-government hospital should be exclusively paid by the person himself and not by government. This would do the real trick to improve the government hospitals. Once this is done, private hospitals would automatically improve. more
