Medicine Sale Compliance
I fully support the move of having a Government e-portal, where every time a drug is sold, the seller must upload the doctor's prescription, his MCI registration number, number of doses, name of the drug, batch number along with the patient's name. Chemists have to electronically uploaded doctor prescriptions furnished by drug buyers within a stipulated time period on this e-portal.
This will bring good accountability into medicine sales, reduce tax evasion and sale of spurious drugs.
The chemists instead of complying are doing a nationwide strike on may 30th. To continue their malpractices they are giving excuse that patient info could get compromised.
What does everyone think on this issue. I think it must be done and thee Govt should just ensure info in this portal is not compromised. more
